Bangladeshi Islamists attacked, killed Hindu leaders and burnt Hindu houses and Hindu temples, kidnapped and raped Hindu women all over Bangladesh since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country on 5 August 2024. Ethnic Cleansing of minority Hindus, Buddhist and Adibasi Tribals continues in Bangladesh.
On 4 October 2024, a huge protest rally has organized by the Hindus at Shaheed Minar Dhaka against the atrocities of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. More than 50 thousands of Hindus actively participated in the rally. All Hindu based organizations have participated to this protest rally.
The area shook with slogans of protest. The speakers in the rally strongly protested against the barbaric attacks on the minority Hindus in Bangladesh and strongly condemned the inaction of the army and administration in the attack on minority Hindus, vandalism of monasteries and temples. Saints from various monasteries, temples and ashrams spontaneously participated in the protest rally.
Speakers appealed to the various international human rights organizations and global leaders to stop brutal attacks on minority Hindus Buddhist and Adibasi Tribals and to protect minority Hindus in Bangladesh.
The following proposal was presented to the Government of Bangladesh:
- All attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh should be prosecuted expeditiously, perpetrators should be punished exemplary, and victims should be adequately compensated and rehabilitated.
- Legislation for Minority Protection in Bangladesh.
- To form Ministry of Minority Affairs.
- To form the Hindu Foundation, Buddhist Foundation and Christian Foundation
- All monasteries, temples, churches, pagodas should be protected.
- Bangladesh cannot have any state religion.
- To build temple in all Educational Institutions and to ensure prayer rooms for the minority Hindus, Buddhists, Christiasn and Adibasi Tribals in the residential hall of all Educational Institutions.
- To provide 5 days Public holidays for Durga Puja.
- The law on return of vested property should be properly implemented.
