BREAKING: Another legendary actor dies

YET another veteran actor has died.

News broke on Thursday, 19 September, that veteran actor, Timmy Kwebulana, has died after a short illness.

The 83-year-old Cape Town-born actor was best known for roles on TV shows such as Fishy Feshuns and Mazinyo Dot Q.
He also played Bra Vic Tau, founder of Shooting Stars FC, on the e.tv drama series, Shooting Stars, from 2007 to 2010. Timmy also guest starred in an episode of the Mzansi Magic sitcom, Chandies in 2012.

During his time as a performer, Timmy worked and travelled the world with jazz pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim in 1977. He toured with a band called Meropa.

His family confirmed his death through a statement on Friday, 20 September.
“It is with sadness that the Kwebulana family officially announces the passing of long-time musician, actor and director, Mr Timmy Kwebulana, on the evening of 19 September 2024 after a short illness. We give thanks for his life and all his contributions to us as a family and the arts and entertainment industry for almost six decades,” read the statement.

The family said they wish to see his legacy continue to inspire everyone and future generations.

“We acknowledge that there will be many heartfelt messages of condolences to the family and relatives. We appreciate them so much. However, we do request, especially from the media and our industry colleagues, that the family is given some time to gather and organise logistics and a way forward.”

The family further said all other developments regarding Timmy’s memorial and funeral services will be announced by family representative, Hlubi Kwebulana in due course.
